With Julie Drew
How do you paint water as it flows and moves over rocks and tumbles to the river below? This intense two-day class uses a lot of basic techniques to capture the movement of water. We will work on several exercises and one main painting for creating movement in water. A bonus: the exercises can be turned into mini paintings by adding landscape around the river or waterfall.
About the Instructor: Julie Drew has always been attracted to the beauty of nature—mountains, oceans, animals, and flowers. She explores the depths and nuances of colour, light, shadow and shape of the subject. Her passion for art led to a BFA in Painting and Drawing from Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA, USA, 1987. In 1997, Julie moved with her family to Edmonton. Although Julie works predominantly in watercolour, she also uses mixed media with her own handmade paper. Julie continues to use her talents in teaching papermaking, watercolour, and other art mediums. Her art work and series of paintings are exhibited around the world.
