Sunday, May 3 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Instructor: Jordan Pearson
Fee includes all supplies
Class limit 10 students
This class offers students a creative approach to representational painting with encaustic. It is meant for the painter interested in pursuing a creative dialogue with their subject matter, which in this class will be floral; to explore the concept of layering and translucency which wax is so well known for. Jordan will demo throughout the day to cover considerations including composition, focus, texture, use of space, value, and realistic vs impression aesthetics. We will use a specific approach to colour mixing, scraping back, fusing, glazing, and carving in. This class is most appropriate for students who have taken an encaustic class before or who would consider themselves intermediate or experienced with the encaustic process. You will leave the class with 1 medium sized finished painting and 1 small study in encaustic!
