Class limit 12 students
Explore encaustic painting with artist and instructor Jordan Pearson. This class will introduce you to the unique working techniques specific to encaustic painting (melted/pigmented beeswax). Jordan’s demos will focus on a specific approach to representational painting in encaustic which involves drawing transfers, colour mixing, scraping, glazing, and carving. Students will also be shown how to build smooth or textural surfaces to suit their encaustic scapes depending on the desired texture and background. This class will involve some drawing, and is open to beginners and those who have already taken a class in encaustic. Take home some small paintings and the temptation to try more! This class is ideal for anyone curious or interested in encaustic painting.
