Saturday & Sunday, May 25 & 26 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM each day
Instructor: Jordan Pearson
Fee includes all supplies
During this intermediate two-day class, you will review the safety and working techniques unique to encaustic painting (hot, pigmented beeswax). Jordan’s demos will focus on a specific approach to landscape painting in encaustic. This will involve several techniques like drawing directly, scraping back, glazing, and carving in. Specific colour mixing for your image will also be covered. Students will be shown how to build smooth or textural surfaces suited to their landscape in regard to texture, background, and detail. You will leave the class with a few sketches and one medium-sized finished painting in encaustic!
This class involves some drawing and is open to those who have already taken a class in encaustic painting or are very familiar with painting in general.
