Introduce yourself to the incredible world of encaustic painting with artist and instructor Jordan Pearson! This class will introduce you to the unique working properties of encaustic (melted and pigmented beeswax) painting. There will be demonstration of basic technique followed by hands-on studio time with the awesome materials provided! Jordan’s demos will focus on monotype encaustic prints, fusing, layering, and various drawing techniques for wax surfaces. You will go home with several small samples and so much joy to try more! Encaustic painting is a fun, challenging material to work with and it never disappoints! This class is ideal for anyone curious or interested in encaustic painting.
About the Instructor: Jordan Pearson studied at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy, has a Visual Arts Diploma in painting from Red Deer College and holds a Bachelor of Education in Fine Art from the University of Alberta. She is an artist, educator and beekeeper who does encaustic painting in her Edmonton studio. She is passionate about helping others use art as their creative outlet.
