In honour of Remembrance Day (Jour du Souvenir) November 11, let’s learn how to paint a beautiful botanical illustration of our revered red poppy flowers. You will learn how to layer watercolours to achieve soft textured poppy petals using different techniques and brush strokes. After this class, you will be able to paint your own commemorative small paintings to give as reminders of this upcoming special day.
About the Instructor: Francis is a professional watercolourist specializing in realistic landscape, cityscape, still life, figurative, and portrait paintings. From an early age Francis has always had a meticulous fascination for
images, how the world is represented in the eyes of others, and what makes beautiful scenes and objects eye-catching. Francis loves both the outdoors and city life. Francis is mostly a self-taught artist, whose works have been shown at the Art Gallery of Alberta, Harcourt House, and the Lotus Gallery among others. He was a Featured Artist in The Art of Watercolour (December 2018) and in Pratique des Arts, peinture, sculpture, gravure (February 2019).
