Beginner and intermediate watercolour painters welcome.
Create a beautiful finished watercolour painting in just one evening! Following your instructor step-by-step while using a reference photo, you will learn to paint with the colours of a winter morning as dawn arrives over a snowy scene. How do you capture the multicoloured sky and snow, reflections on water, and distant trees? Come along and find out! The many ways of using wet-on-wet techniques in scenic painting will be revealed along with other tips and tricks helpful to the watercolourist.
About the Instructor: Francis is a professional watercolourist specializing in realistic landscape, cityscape, still life, figurative, and portrait paintings. From an early age Francis has always had a meticulous fascination for images, how the world is represented in the eyes of others, and what makes beautiful scenes and objects eye-catching. Living in Jasper in 2007, then moving to Edmonton in 2010, Francis`s love of both the outdoors and the city has grown tremendously. Francis is a self-taught artist, but he has also had training at the City Arts Centre. His works have been exhibited at the Art Gallery of Alberta, Harcourt House, and the Lotus Gallery among others. Francis was a Featured Artist in The Art of Watercolour, the global leader in watercolour magazines (December 2018) and in Pratique des Arts, peinture, sculpture, gravure (February 2018).
